In response to the unreasonable detainment of Huawei’s CFO Meng Wanzhou in Canada, which seemed to have been requested by the US, a Chinese display manufacturer based in Shenzhen recently passed a subsidiary policy by 18 shareholders, rewarding their employees with 15% worth of the smartphone price if they purchase domestic brands, naming Huawei and ZTE. Also, the policy indicates that a heavy fine which equals the amount of money paid for iPhones will be applied if employees are found using Apple’s products. The policy was criticized by netizens of “being stupid”.
