A touching TikTok short clip elaborates the concept of “China’s Generations”
Contrary to Burberry’s freaky photographic series in an intended tribute to Chinese New Year’s generations’ reunion culture, the virally spreading video clips, first appeared on Douyin (the Chinese version of TikTok), were seen as a proper elaboration to the essence of “China’s Generations” culture, and resulted in memes within local internet. “Each video,” as depicted by ABC News, “begins with a young child calling out to their mother or father. Then the parent enters the room smiling, turns around and calls out to their own parent. The next generation then enters smiling and does the same.” The challenge also received positive reviews from international media press as “expressing wholesome energy” and “solved us what’s internet actually for”.
