The COVID-19 pandemic and its attendant mandated lockdowns have successfully educated the market of the value of online conferencing and has further formed a direct battle between Tencent and Alibaba, which both rolled out similar conferencing tools. The new product launched by Alibaba, independent from its productivity app Dingtalk, also incorporating the feature of video conferencing, is promised to deliver high quality (1080p) picture videos with ‘beautification’ function, for image-conscious users.
