Alibaba is ramping up efforts to gain momentum in the smart vehicle market

By taking a 15% stake in the public transport software provider China TransInfo, Alibaba signals its ambitions in the intelligent mobility service. Over the next three years, the e-commerce giant will assist, and work closely with, China TransInfo to accelerate the mass deployment of intelligent public transport solutions and cloud-based services for public security. China TransInfo is also partnering the Chinese driverless vehicle tech leader Baidu, collaborating on networking and data services provision.
