Alibaba reinforced the partnership with Bilibili on content-driven e-commerce development

Alibaba was reported to have acquired around 24 million shares in Bilibili, amounting to an 8% stake in the Chinese video and entertainment platform. The news signals the positive attitude of the market on content-driven e-commerce, and again hints at Alibaba’s desire on traffic from content platforms after its last grant financial input to China’s microblog, Weibo. Bilibili is of tremendous potential for attracting interest from people who born after the 1990s, who have just attained economic independence.
