Around 1,000 employees from Oracle’s Beijing office to be made redundant

In contrast to Chinese tech companies’ ambitious march on the overseas market, global leaders are gradually showing less willingness to become involved in the business in China. Following the e-commerce giant Amazon’s retreat, Oracle publicly announced its redundancy plan yesterday to lay off about 1,000 staff from its Beijing branch. There’s speculation circulating that Oracle’s China Research and Development Center will also be closed soon.
