The divergence from nurturing customer-oriented unit to business-focused group seems to be a trend for most internet companies, at least the giants in China. Following Tencent and Alibaba, Baidu has started exerting itself over artificial intelligence and cloud computing research and development, with an aim to leverage its technological advances serving more business requests, rather than individual demands.
