Bilibili to partner Taobao on the Japanese anime content-driven e-commerce

Bilibili announced a partnership with Alibaba’s online marketplace Taobao, seeking to monopolize content-driven e-commerce. By registering accounts on Taobao, Bilibili’s content creators will be granted access to sell derivatives of anime, comics, and games (ACG) movies and novels. Facing a staggering loss of $29.5 million, Bilibili is in urgent need of new channels for commercialization, while the collaboration with Taobao may save it from the financial stumble.
