BMW the first foreign automaker to be granted a car-hailing license

BMW took its one step forward to entering the already crowded ride-hailing business in China. It was reported that BMW would officially start an trial operation in Chengdu on 14th Dec. after the acquisition of the necessary license. The plan to use 200 series 5 cars as the initial vehicles. BMW is the first global car maker which is joining car-hailing business in China, and its CEO Harald Krüger specified that the company within is looking to switch from being a pure car manufacturer to a combined mobile traveling service provider.
