Vigo, another short video app introduced by TikTok’s parent company Bytedance, is being voluntarily taken down from the app stores. The news came shortly after the company’s announcement of phasing out its news aggregator Topbuzz. Videos uploaded to Vigo can be ‘seamlessly’ exported to TikTok, while users can also choose to erase their personal data permanently. Bytedance is well known for its shotgun approach to product development, where underperforming apps are not likely to survive amid the fierce interior competition.
