Bytedance recently launched a standalone search app which yields results from its news aggregator Today’s Headline as well as video platforms Douyin and Xigua. This advancement provides a direct rival to Baidu which is known as the largest search engine service provider in China. Apart from that, Tencent has also been promoting the search function contained within WeChat, allowing users to search for official account articles and content from the wider internet.
