The battle between Bytedance and Baidu has extended to encyclopedia services. The former recently invested RMB 8.1 million in Hudong Baike, which is known as a rival to Baidu Baike, aims to provide competitive encyclopedic search results in its news aggregator app Jinri Toutiao. The two tech titans have long been seen warriors of accusing each other of “content-stealing”.
