Calls for Baidu’s misleading search results of “Gaokao application” to stop
We will continue our topic on Baidu following last week. Now is the peak time for high school graduates to apply for university admissions after Gaokao (the national college entrance test in China). China’s Ministry of Education and Ministry of Public Security has called for a meeting with the two major search service providers in China, namely Baidu and 360, to demand restraint in their advertising approaches to students whom they fear may be being misdirected to unaccredited schools or sham websites. Baidu responded positively that it would “firmly” support the ministry’s comments and were continually adding tips to search result pages to guide users away from fake websites.
