China Mobile banned from providing international phone service in the US
We are standing at a threshold where there is an intensifying conflict between China and the US. Despite the controversial ban of Huawei’s product, the communication service provider, China Mobile, was blocked from the application of servicing international calls, accounting for its 100% state-own background. Nevertheless, there are precedents, such as that of British Telecom, which is also a national carrier, being licensed with a permit running international phone call business in the states. The result comes after a unanimous 5-0 vote from both Republican and Democratic commissioners, which signals the suffused hostility against Chinese firms as an excuse for fretting about the potential threat to American national security.
