China’s Lenovo partners with Qualcomm to outdoor the first 5G PC
Xinhua reported last Monday that China’s tech giant Lenovo Group Ltd is teaming up with US leading chipmaker Qualcomm Technologies Inc.to launch the world’s first Snapdragon-powered 5G PC for the world market. The new PC system, named Project Limitless, will run on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8cx 5G computer platform, the world’s first 7nm platform purpose-built for PCs, said the American top chipmaker. The report mentioned that the collaboration between industry leaders was to usher in a new generation of Always On, Always Connected PCs, which will “open the door to new, transformative user experiences for both consumers and enterprise.” Qualcomm, however, did not disclose further details about the release date or price of the new PC but industry analysts predict the new PC could be launched in early 2020.
