Idle Fish, the second-hand products selling platform backed by Alibaba, known in China by its the name Xianyu, is doubling down on content investment, which aims to foster 100,000 influencers in the following 3 years. The campaign is in line with Taobao’s online streamers cultivating plan initiated last December, with efforts to boost the live stream-enabled e-commerce market. According to the official data, more than one million users are posting over two million “idle” items on the app every day, and the number has the potential to grow even larger, since the idea of a recycling economy is penetrating to every corner of society.
