The meatless industry is booming on a worldwide scale, and China is catching up with the trend. However, affected by Buddhist cuisine and the long-invented tofu, Chinese dinner tables have been dominated by the soy-based products for decades, which are similar to the popular meat alternatives circulating in the market now, mostly plant protein combinations extracted from soybeans, peas and mushroom.
