Google Play recently pulled off dozens of apps developed by a Chinese software development company CooTek because of the violation of the platform’s advertising policies, which were found to be using a malicious plug-in called BeiTaAd that bombards users with disruptive apps. Response from the company explained to TechNode that they are “mainly for normal functions”, and it’s in the process of communication with Google to clarify the issue.
