To answer the call from the central authorities, Chongqing launched a blockchain innovation alliance and public service platform, named ‘Chongqing Swiftchain’, to spur the development and application of this high-level technology. The alliance taps expertise on a global scale of heavy hitters including IBM, Alibaba, Huawei and Baidu, and it incorporates more than 100 companies and research institutions in related fields. China is encouraging the adoption of blockchain technology across the country and attracting international experts by offering extremely tempting government incentives and subsidies.
