Not only the telecommunication gear supplier Huawei fell victim to a ban, amid the escalating tension between China and US, but also the actual telecommunication service provider – China Mobile was recently verbally attacked by the chairman of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), it claimed to be suspicious of “substantial and serious national security and law enforcement risks”, and has taken action to suspend the use of its service throughout the states. The accusation was predicated on the company’s state-owned background, with potentially lead to “intercepted calls for surveillance and make the domestic network vulnerable to hacking and other risks”.
