Ctrip is expanding its international footprint by forming a global partnership with TripAdvisor

A growing number of tech giants in China are seeking increasing opportunities overseas as opposed to focusing on domestic development, resulting from the strong competition pressured from local rivals. The cooperation empowers Ctrip to enjoy the exclusive rich content pool owned by TripAdvisor and increases the latter’s booking capacity a benefit of Ctrip’s technology. The online China tourism agency has already gained some international impression and its oversea sales account for more than 35% of total revenue in the Q2’s earnings.
