Dress code to crack down on inappropriate content on live-streaming platforms

The regulations released by the Hubei provincial government and Wuhan’s Software Industry Association, in an attempt to standardize the live-streaming industry and to boost healthy cyber development, has caught the public attention. The rule prohibits provocative clothing for female performers and imposes stricter disciplines on minors. Escalating scrutiny over the content circulating on the internet is alerting every video platforms – in iQiyi’s self-produced show “I Fiori Delle Sorelle”, all earrings worn by male guests were blurred out, which was seen as an answer to administrative advocacy against the alleged “sick culture” of men being feminized.
