Escalating scrutiny of content will impose extra pressure on short video industry

The China Netcasting Services Association (CNSA), which oversees the content published by national press media, released a set of detailed guidelines which are to be obeyed by short video creators and platforms on Wednesday. Though the regulations are considered reasonable to boost a “healthy and orderly long-term development” within Chinese cyberspace, it is definitely pouring a bucket of cold water over the booming and flourishing industry, leading to massive videos removal from the internet.
