Gene-edited baby born in China aroused a worldwide ethical debate

The birth of a pair of twin girls, one of which was genetically edited to prevent her from contracting HIV has generated a barrage of criticism, arguing that genetic changes could be passed on for generations which has the potential to be harmful to humanity. As the debate rages, an “immediate investigation” over the controversial case has been ordered by China’s National Health Commission.
