Google’s Chinese targeted project Dragonfly, to provide a China-only search engine app, was heavily protested by its employees due to the underappreciation of company value versus profit. The app was said designed to meet China’s state requirement for surveillance, which enables a blacklisting function, in an attempt to filter out unfavored content by the state authority.
