Hello TransTech received the first fine for placing new bikes without permission

Beijing Transport Bureau recently announced a penalty of RMB 50,000 (around $7,230) against Hello TransTech’s for introducing new bikes to the city without permission. This is the first time that the bike rental company has been penalized by the Chinese government. Bikes in operation, especially in tier 1 cities, are commonly in a poor condition, and the ban on introducing new bikes has actually worsened the situation in which commuters are left with fewer options to solve their last mile problems.
