Huawei’s CFO is seeking bail and is willing to pay the cost of her surveillance

The bail proposal by Meng Wanzhou, the CFO of Huawei Corp, which stipulates that Meng’s husband Liu Xiaozong could act as “surety,” has voiced doubts by a Canadian judge, questioning the feasibility of doing so if he is out of the country during the extradition process. The proposal suggests Meng would lose up to $1 million in cash and property should she violate the conditions. We will watch closely to see whether the case will further intensify the US-China trade war.
