Is Huawei a state-owned company or not?
One of the major arguments claiming Huawei’s collusion with China’s government in an attempt to intercept and illegally acquire security data is its unidentifiable ownership. However, in a press conference held on Thursday, the company reiterated its assertion that it is owned by all the employees, and refuted the publicly disclosed report concerning ownership composition, by an academic paper, which asserted that 99% of Huawei’s shares were held by a “trade union committee”, in effect the Chinese authorities.
