JD teams up with LG to expand C2M selling

The C2M (consumer-to-manufacturer) model has been adopted by various e-commerce giants and has powered the group-buying platform Pinduoduo’s rapid ascent. The model features highly competitive pricing brought by the connection between factories and users’ demographic data, usually provided by e-commerce platforms, and precisely targeted marketing campaigns. JD recently inked a partnership with South Korean manufacturer LG Electronics to extend the business section, wishing to sell RMB 5 billion ($70 million) worth of products on its platform.
