Maoyan partners Tencent on ticketing service expansion

Spending on entertainment in China is seeing a downturn, which was reflected in a slump of box office revenue in the first half of 2019, according to the leading movie-ticketing platform Maoyan Entertainment. Recently, Maoyan announced its partnership with Tencent, from which it will gain access to a wide range of Tencent entertainment units including Tencent Pictures, Tencent Video, and Tencent Music Entertainment Group. The resulted increase in online exposure of Maoyan gained from the cooperation can expand its current reach to a group of possible audience who may contribute to conversion, and for Tencent to better meet consumers’ entertainment demand.
