The US has expanded its trade blacklist with another nine Chinese companies and institutions, prohibiting them from using US commodities and technologies. These newly added companies are either high-tech firms concentrating on robotics and AI technology or entities accused of being complicit in human rights abuses in the Uighur Autonomous Region. Some 24 companies are banned in a separate announcement, being suspected of having ties to China’s military.
