The gaming giant NetEase, also an edtech veteran, is filing for IPO (initial public offering) in the US, and the company is reportedly in discussions with two well-known underwriters for the listing. Being a leader who pioneered the Chinese online education market, NetEase previously received several rounds of funding led by MOOC-CN Investment with participation from Legend Capital. Since the beginning of 2019, the company has stressed that the strategic focus in the following years will be on edtech, along with gaming, e-commerce, and music.
