Nio’s livestreaming debut on Taobao secured 320 pre-orders

Nio is the first Chinese EV maker that tried out the livestreaming sales during the epidemic. On Sunday night, its founder and CEO William Li, teamed up with a veteran host and TV personality Wang Han, put on a 40-minute session livestreaming show that attracted more than 20 million viewers through a webcast on Taobao. The company announced on Monday that it received a total of 320 non-refundable deposits, amounting to RMB 128 million ($18 million), as well as 5,300 slots of test driving, priced at RMB 1.
