Short video platform Kuaishou launched a data research institution
On Tuesday the short video platform Kuaishou announced its cooperation with several prominent universities, including Tsinghua University and Peking University, in terms of AI algorithms and data analysis. The collaboration will be carried out by the Kuaishou Social Impact Institute. The institute has been established to provide users in rural areas with a more precise content match scheme by which to facilitate videos sharing between those who have the same interests and hobbies. The main motivating factor lies in Kuaishou’s ambition on social e-commerce – following Taobao and Douyin’s (TikTok) efforts marching towards content marketing led retailing mode, Kuaishou is paving its own way to convert audiences to potential customers by making them aware of products geared to their interests in the watched videos.
