Despite the dismal state of Chinese business and the economy, Tencent is still endeavoring to extend its global market share – in foreign countries. A presence in overseas markets will also serve as an advantage as Tencent’s other business units expand beyond China, said Da Zhiqian, vice president of Tencent Cloud. However, the competition faced by Tencent can be super fierce since the market beyond the borders is currently dominated by international tech giants such as Amazon and Microsoft.
