Tencent is raising its stakes in the e-commerce industry, invading its rival Alibaba’s home turf, by adopting a logistics tracking function in WeChat so as to enhance its social e-commerce system burgeoning with mini-programs. Though WeChat joined the battle a bit late, long after Alibaba’s Cainiao Logistics was established 7 years ago and JD’s flourishing 72 hours delivery networking system, the market still holds great confidence in WeChat’s march towards e-commerce fort, which is totally built upon social connections between acquainted users.
