Tencent expects further investment for and revenue from its cloud computing business
To cut off the financial and strategic dependence on the gaming industry, Tencent unveiled its business focus transitioning to cloud computing services at a press conference held Thursday. Retail, financial services, transport, healthcare, and education are among the primary industries to which Tencent will provide its customized cloud computing service. Not only another main source of income that Tencent is looking into from the new service, but also a portal to connect the potential consumer as well as industrial networks. Since the organizational overhaul initiated late in 2018 signaling the operational switch from 2C to 2B, cloud computing was given the highest priority being seen as a key to victory on the B2B battlefield.
