Tencent is pushing in e-commerce section
E-commerce might be the only activity that Tencent is not good at. Over the past few decades, this social and gaming giant has made several attempts to stand out in the market, however, all in vain. When it seems settled that Tencent has to be satisfied with just holding equity in JD.com and Pinduoduo, it made some noise again – a new feature was enabled in WeChat which is said to help narrow the gap between marketers and consumers, especially for big brands. Will the renovation to the super messaging app gain a foothold in e-commerce for Tencent so as to compete with Alibaba? We will have to wait and see what will be.
