Tencent made another leap forward in the artificial intelligence (AI) field. On 22nd, Tencent Auto Intelligence (TAI)’s vice president Zhong Xuedan announced that the voice-enabled WeChat services in its connected vehicle ecosystem are coming within the year. The initiative was to facilitate drivers’ hands to remain on the wheel which can help reduce outside distractions during the drive such as accepting or rejecting phone calls that might boost the risk of car accidents. The eco-system has been adapted to several major vehicle brands including Mercedes-Benz, BMW, as well as Chinese EV maker, BYD.
