Confronting the administrative clampdown on issuing new game titles, Tencent, the Chinese gaming giant is making efforts on diversifying its business interests, and education is one of the latest developments. Despite investment in two major online tutoring leading platforms, namely Yuanfudao and VIPKID, Tencent is powering the smart education lab by deploying artificial intelligence (AI) and cloud computing with support from its tech arm.
