A Tesla Model S was caught fire in a Shanghai parking garage. The flames and the subsequent explosion also damaged other cars parked in the near parking slots. The advanced designed vehicle, with allegedly a 10 times less likeliness of self-igniting than traditional cars, is just one of several similar cases reported both from the US and China. The timing of the accident happened at a most inopportune time since Tesla is preparing to hold an investors’ day on Monday focusing on autonomous driving.
