The tech constraint will postpone the debut of 5G in China
China is under pressure to push 5G technology forward since the leading technology boasts a profitable outlook despite the huge investment required. Though the move to “accelerate 5G” was given a top priority, the actual rollout is slipping and failing to meet expectations due to “…the likely lack of a range of affordable 5G handsets and attractive applications (both consumer and industrial).” Also, the global ban on Huawei’s 5G products has caused a lag in its aggressive international deployment process. However, government encouragement on its adoption provides a silver lining – Chengdu Shuangliu international airport in collaboration with Huawei will bring the advanced networks to life which will facilitate a faster facial recognition process and smoother luggage delivery.
