Tiktok blocked in India – is now the right time to talk about human rights with China?

Shortly after the ban introduced by the Indian government, earlier this week, Tiktok was promptly removed from Google Play. Considering that Android users consist of 90% of the whole population in India, the take-down might have a serious negative impact on one of Tiktok’s largest market. Interestingly enough, originated and developed in China, a country which has their internet applications strictly regulated and surveilled by government watchdogs, Tiktok took a stance filling that the ban would hurt Indian people’s free speech rights.
