TikTok will soon withdraw from Hong Kong market

Upon the implementation of a controversial national security law which requests tech companies that run business in Hong Kong to hand over user data to the Chinese government, the viral short video app TikTok decided to exit the Hong Kong market. Bytedance, the parent company of Tiktok however, said it would retain the service of its mainland China version Douyin available in the region. According to a source cited by Reuters, Douyin boasts more users in Hong Kong than Tiktok.
