Kevin Mayer, the former top executive for The Walt Disney Company’s streaming business who was assigned to the chief executive officer of TokTok US in May, said yesterday that he was resigning. Mentioned in his note to employees, what has caused his leaving was the sharply changed political environment associated with the two executive orders signed by President Trump, banning transactions with TikTok within the US jurisdiction. The company said in a statement that it fully respects Mayer’s decision and designated the current general manager to the interim global head.
