Yesterday, Weibo posted an announcement officially suspending new registrations from users aged under 14, in an attempt to protect juveniles cybersecurity. Weibo has also embarked on developing a special mobile application with content filter plugins, especially for teenagers, to further ensure the effectiveness of the new version’s renovation. Affected by this move and the potential high churn rate, its stock fell drastically on Tuesday and closed at 61.08USD down by 4.67%.
