Despite the political conflict and security concerns, online streaming video service providers are rushing into Taiwan. Following iQiyi, Youku Tudou and HunanTV, Tencent joined the throng by landing WeTV on the island. The application is now able to be downloaded from both App Store and Google Play. The installation counts achieved more than 500,000 times simply on Android devices, which reflected its potential in Taiwan considering the whole population in the region only tags about 23 million.
