Zhang Yiming, the founder of the content distribution platform Jinri Toutiao, is stepping down as CEO but will remain the existing title of ByteDance. His successor, Chen Lin officially starts his job in November. The response to the personnel shift has focused on ByteDance’s strategic reformation and IPO movement. Owning two topping popular applications, Jinri Toutiao and TikTok, ByteDance now needs to picture a clearer map for current growth while enlightening some new products.
